Wakefield, MI is located in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It has numerous attractions that make living and working here the very best.  For the outdoorsman, there is fishing in the numerous trout streams or many lakes. You can also enjoy the various seasons seeking bear, deer, partridge, rabbit, and other small game.  Winter activities include downhill skiing and snowmobiling, which covers 2000 miles of groomed trails. Also, if x-country skiing is your preference you are in luck, Wakefield has some of the best trails in the U.P. Words cannot capture the beauty of the waterfalls located on the Black and Presque Isle Rivers, and along many streams in the area. Further information, along with directions can be found at the westernup.com. Fall color tours capture the grandeur and beauty of our area when mother nature picks up her fall color paintbrush. Scenic overlooks and pristine lakes double the beauty of fall in Wakefield, MI.
